How to get the most out of Your Website

September 26, 2017

More often than not customers are surfing your website for reviews, how you can help them, and if you best suit their needs. Chances are these potential clients are comparing you with your competition, so how do you stand out from the rest?

Be sure to keep your website current, up to date, and with the times. Have any badges? Update them on your website. Badges, acknowledgements, achievements, and awards are important to portray no your site. The more accreditations you have, the more appealing you’ll be to a potential client.

What to Display

Honestly there are no set rules to your website, make it your own, and don’t be afraid to brag about yourself and your accomplishments. Be personal and talk about personal feats as well. Display your Professional Accreditations. Professional Accreditations include badges from the Better Business Bureau, the American Bar Association, or even your state bar association. Consider displaying your awards. Was your firm named one of the top firms locally? How about nationally? Mentioning these awards on your homepage so they’re easy for your clients to find.

Location, Location, Location

Placement of your achievements is extremely important. Having badges along your home page footer, on the banner, or even having a separate page for them is key. If you have a blog portion of your website, consider doing a press release and posting it in that section. It’s important to keep this up to date. If you have badges that were last updated in 2014, it shows your clients that you haven’t been awarded in quite some time.

Where to Acquire Badges

If you’re already a member of the ABA or your local bar association, reach out to the membership contact and ask them for the corresponding badge for your membership. Try a Google search of your firm name, sometimes clients might post reviews on sites such as Yelp, or even Google itself. Other awards might be more difficult to earn, but start small by searching for awards that might fit your criteria.
