You should have an impressive LinkedIn profile and you should probably have a Facebook page too. Twitter isn’t a bad idea either. After all, you want exposure and most people these days are looking up businesses using social media.
That said, you’ll want to make sure your clients are careful about what they put on social media sites. More and more evidence is being gathered from social media. According to a study from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, more than 80% of divorce attorneys have increased the amount of evidence they’ve gathered from social media sites since 2006, which is around when Facebook exploded.

Here are some general guidelines to offer your clients when it comes to social media.

Be careful what you write and say. If you don’t want it to be used against you in court, don’t post it online.
Steer clear of posting anything on social media sites while a case is in progress. Better to take the approach of abstinence to avoid the potential of incriminating oneself.
Just because you set your profile to private doesn’t mean it can’t be accessed.
The long and short of it is that social media can work favors for your firm but can work against your clients.
